Using the foundations of the Tiffany Copper Foilmethod during hands-on instruction, create worksof art by creating patterns, cutting, soldering, and foiling.All levels.
OPEN STUDIO TIME: While enrolled in a 6-week program at the LCAC, participants may use the program’s studio during non-instructional hours of operations.
Participants do not need all items on this list for the first day of class. Items participants will need the first day of class are drywall board, Morton strips, pins, and glass specific to their chosen pattern.
*The instructor will go over cutters so participants can decide what is best.
Base for your glass project (This is your working space for building and soldering)• Beginner project finished piece recommended no larger than 12” x 12”. Project designs can be found online.• Be sure to get a board that is large enough for future projects!• Drywall Board 24”x24”is a good size (Lowes or Home Depot)• This board will withstand the heat of soldering.
Glass• 3mm is the standard thickness for glass• Chosen glass should be specific to project type
Tools• Safety goggles (when cutting)• Elmer’s Glue Stick• Mask (when soldering)• Extra Fine Line Sharpie• Morton 6” Layout Block System with pins• Brass Handy Hangers• Painter’s tape (good to have on hand)• Pencils• Scissors• Tracing paper (for patterns)
Soldering Irons will be available for classroom use, participants plan to progress with Stained Glass it is suggested.
Supplies for Purchase at the LCAC:• Zinc Came• Flux & Flux Brush• 60/40 Solder• 7/32 Foil
