This program provides already trained Program Aide's (PA) and Counselor’s-in-Training (CIT) the opportunity to put their skills to the test and help out with an outdoor program. The description of program they will help with is listed below. This is a day event and does not include an overnight. A snack is provided as part of this event. Participants should bring a lunch from home. This program is designed for individuals WITHOUT an adult chaperone who have already completed their PA or CIT training. This is a drop off event. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, this fun-filled program is designed to equip you with essential skills for your outdoor adventures. What You'll Learn: Campsite Setup: Practice the art of setting up a campsite efficiently and safely. Knot Tying: Learn various knots and when to use them in different outdoor situations. Map and Compass Navigation: Navigate confidently using maps and compasses to explore new areas. Campfire Building: Discover techniques for building and maintaining a campfire for warmth, cooking, and camaraderie. First Aid and Safety: Review basic first aid skills and essential camp safety practices to ensure a secure outdoor experience. By the end of the day, you'll have completed the GCNWI Outdoor Skills Series patch program that consists of five patches, a testament to your newfound knowledge and abilities. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, our experienced camp staff will guide you every step of the way.
