DAY 1
No need to worry about a passport as you depart PA and travel north to Niagara Falls, NY. Following meal and rest stops along the way, you arrive in Niagara Falls, NY for a three-night stay at the Hyatt Place Niagara (716-285-5000). Guest room amenities include a mini refrigerator, coffeemaker, hair dryer and flat screen HDTV. The hotel features an indoor pool, fitness center and cocktail lounge. Dinner this evening will be included with the remainder of the night to relax and unwind. DDAY 2Wake up to breakfast included at the hotel before you board the motorcoach with your local guide for a narrated driving tour of Niagara Falls, NY. Niagara Falls is America's oldest state park and was saved by a group of environmentalists who encouraged New York State to buy the land surrounding the Falls to keep it safe from exploitation. As a result, the park was established in 1885. During your tour of Niagara, you have admission included to experience by boat the thunderous roar of the falls that makes Niagara Falls an awe-inspiring destination. Water rushes all around as you soak in the excitement and explore the roar of the Falls. The Maid of the Mist takes you past the American Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls and into the basin of the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The water falls from a height of 167 feet at a rate of 600,000 U.S. gallons per seconds from the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. A complimentary poncho is given to each passenger for the ride. (Please Note: You do have to walk a fair distance down to the dock to board the boat and your feet may get wet. Please wear comfortable shoes that can get wet.) After your visit, you will have free time to grab lunch on your own in the falls area. Next, you have admission included to visit Herschell Carousel Factory Museum. Within the factory you will find what is most likely the first machine shipped from the Allan Herschell Company factory in March 1916. It carried two types of Herschell horses. The middle and inner rows of horses were originally mounted on an early 1900s Herschell-Spillman track machine. The outer row carried 12 of the "brand new" 1916 Allan Herschell horses. It took 3 U-Haul trucks and a trip to London, Ontario to bring it to the factory in 1982. You will be transformed back to your childhood with an included ride on the Carousel before you depart. Following your visit, you will return to the hotel for the remainder of the afternoon and evening to explore Niagara Falls. Your Wolf's Tour Escort will talk with you about options during your free time. Dinner is included at an area restaurant. B, D
DAY 3Once again, breakfast is included at the hotel before you board the motorcoach for touring. Your first stop of the day is at the Niagara Power Vista for an exciting and interactive experience designed to let you experience the power of Niagara Falls. Understand electricity through the eyes of pioneers like Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison and see how the massive Robert Moses Dam plays a role in providing power. Have the chance to design your own dam, operate a power grid during a storm, walk through a turbine, and become immersed in a state-of-the-art, 4-D virtual ride that takes you plummeting from the sky and into the Niagara River. Your next stop will be at a local winery with a tour and sampling (you must be 21 or over to participate in the sampling). The Niagara Falls USA area and region has just the right climate and soil for vinifera grapes to thrive. These grapes produce an array of wines ranging from classic pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and riesling to more uncommon styles. Next, you will have time for lunch on your own in the local area. You then return to the hotel for a brief time to relax and freshen up for an evening at the Niagara Culinary Institute including a tour of the facility, cooking demonstration with samples and a delicious dinner at Savor, their student-run upscale dining restaurant. It's a feast for the senses as you listen to and watch a chef demonstration, as well as smell and taste the creation that is prepared before you. Following dinner, you depart and return to the hotel.
