Maximize winter with Chris, a UMaine Cooperative Extension Master Gardener. Winter sowing is a gardening technique where seeds are sown in containers during winter, allowing them to stratify and germinate as the weather warms in spring. The seeds are placed in outdoor containers with lids or covers, mimicking a mini greenhouse effect. Please bring an empty gallon milk jug to class.
