About This Activity
This class will teach students about the fundamentals of songwriting over two weeks to create a final original song. Topics include lyric writing, melody writing, and chord progressions. Students will use their favorite musicians and lesson topics as a guide to write songs of their own. This class is meant to be fun and will let students learn to express themselves through music. No music experience is required! On the last day, students will have a brief “showcase” to perform their final songs (August 8th).
