About This Activity

Description

Center Shot Archery Academy is a series of USA Archery education programs offered at the Outdoor Education Center via our Center Shot JOAD coaches. Each step is designed to take students (youth or adult) to the next level to help archers enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition!

USA Archery's Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) and Adult Archery Program are national-level curricula that offer barebow, recurve, and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team building skills. As archers develop, they will learn more advanced techniques and earn achievement awards.

Class is usually not held the week of a major holiday. Class is canceled in the event or threat of an imminent severe weather warning. Students should wear close-toed shoes only.

USA Archery membership is an additional fee through a separate organization and is OPTIONAL for students enrolling in Center Shot Archery Academy programs. However, only current USA Archery members are able to receive achievement awards (lanyards, pins, etc.) through Academy programs.

Shooting for pins will mostly be done outside of regular class time (Archery 1 students only will have the opportunity to earn pins in class). Listed prerequisites have to be met to advance to the next level. Class packets (NTS shot cycle, stretch band, finger sling) received during Archery 1 are included with the program but do have a replacement fee. Students with individual or family annual passes that include the indoor archery range receive a 20% discount on registration fees.
