Description
Thank you for your interest in Litchfield Park Recreation Center's StarGuard Lifeguarding course!
The course will be held at :Litchfield Park Recreation Center100 S Old Litchfield Rd.Litchfield Park, AZ 85340
Participants who pass the class will receive a lifeguard certification through StarGuard Elite and a CPR for the professional rescuer certification through the American Safety and Health Institute.
Requirements: Participants MUST be at least 15 years old to enroll in class and successfully complete all aspects of the prerequisite testing.
Online Learning (must be completed before classes start)
Online learning will be assigned after registering for the class. The online component takes approximately 7 hours to complete. All online learning must be completed and passed prior to the start of the first class.
Prerequisite Testing (held on the first day of class)
- Swim 50 yards with head above the water
- Swim 50 yards with a rescue tube
- Tread water for 1 minute without use of hands
- Retrieve a 10 lb. brick at a depth of 12 feet

- Monday, March 9 / 9am - 5pm
- Tuesday, March 10 / 9am - 5pm
- Wednesday, March 11 / 9am - 1pm

If you are interested in working at the Litchfield Park Rec Center pool, there will be a hiring event on the last day of class. Applications will be available February 2025 on litchfieldpark.gov.*Completing the lifeguard course does not guarantee employment with the City of Litchfield Park*
