Tuesday - Dec 1, 8, 15 | Jan 5, 12, 19, 26 | Feb 2 No Classes - Dec 21 – Jan 4 (Winter Break) 8 sessions x 75 minutes In this fun, hands-on 8-week after-school class, students in Grades 2–5 dive into the world of cross stitch — building beautiful, grid-based designs one "X" at a time — while also picking up beginner sewing skills along the way. Each week introduces a new skill or technique, giving students the chance to learn, practice, and create something they're genuinely proud of. Students spend the bulk of their time mastering cross stitch fundamentals, while rounding out their creative toolkit with basic sewing — including practical life skills like sewing on a button. With step-by-step guidance, every project is designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and accessible for all skill levels — no experience necessary. A handmade holiday gift: This season, students will create a special Christmas gift, something made by their own hands and full of meaning, ready to wrap and give to someone they love. Along the way, students strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving, all while learning the quiet value of patience and perseverance. Each class celebrates the process of making — encouraging self-expression and real pride in seeing a project through from first stitch to finished piece. By the end of 8 weeks, students take home a collection of handmade creations — cross stitch pieces and sewn projects — along with skills they'll use again and again. Took this class in the Fall? Welcome back! Winter brings a whole new lineup of cross stitch and sewing projects, so there's plenty of fresh material to explore even for returning students. A $20 materials fee is included in tuition — no extra shopping required. Because at Livermore After The Bell Enrichment, learning doesn't stop when the bell rings — it gets stitched and made by hand.
