About This Activity

Friday - Aug 28 | Sept 4, 11, 18, 25 | Oct 2, 30 | Nov 6, 13, 20 No Classes - Conference Week Oct 9 and 16 | No School Oct 23 10 sessions x 90 minutes Calling all young innovators, coders, and future engineers! Get ready for an exciting adventure into the world of Micro:bit, where creativity meets technology and ideas come to life through code. This fun, project-based program invites students to explore coding, electronics, and invention by building real, working devices. Using a pocket-sized programmable computer packed with LEDs, buttons, and built-in sensors, students discover how code can control lights, sound, motion, and more. Through guided challenges and hands-on builds, kids move beyond screen-based coding to design, test, and improve projects they can actually hold. Instead of just learning how programs work, they create their own games, wearable devices, alarms, and smart gadgets. Along the way, students develop: • 🧠 Computational thinking and logical reasoning • 🔍 Problem-solving and debugging skills • ⚙️ Confidence with technology and electronics • 💡 Creativity through design and invention • 🤝 Collaboration and teamwork Our Adventure Map: • Week 1 — Meet the Micro:bit: • Week 2 — Buttons, Inputs & Interactivity: • Week 3 — Game Design Studio: • Week 4 — Sound & Music Makers: • Week 5 — Smart Environmental Sensors: • Week 6 — Motion & Motion & Movement Technology: • Weeks 7 & 8 — Circuits & Physical Computing: • Weeks 9 & 10 — Smart Device Challenge: Each class blends short lessons with plenty of build time, so every child can experiment, personalize their creations, and take real pride in what they make. No prior coding experience needed — just curiosity and a love for building. The Power of Project-Based Learning: At TinkerOn Labs, we believe kids learn best by doing. A $35 materials fee is included in Tuition.
