Tuesday - Sept 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 | Oct 20, 27 | Nov 3 No Classes - Conference Week Oct 6 and 13 8 sessions x 75 minutes In this fun, hands-on 8-week after-school class, students in Grades 2–5 dive into the world of cross stitch — building beautiful, grid-based designs one "X" at a time — while also picking up beginner sewing skills and the art of origami. Each week introduces a new skill or technique, giving students the chance to learn, practice, and create something they're genuinely proud of. Students spend the bulk of their time mastering cross stitch fundamentals, while rounding out their creative toolkit with basic sewing (including practical life skills like sewing on a button) and the precise, satisfying folds of origami. With step-by-step guidance, every project is designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and accessible for all skill levels — no experience necessary. Along the way, students strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving, all while learning the quiet value of patience and perseverance. Each class celebrates the process of making — encouraging self-expression and real pride in seeing a project through from first stitch to finished piece. By the end of 8 weeks, students take home a collection of handmade creations — cross stitch pieces, sewn projects, and origami folds — along with skills they'll use again and again. A $20 materials fee is included in tuition — no extra shopping required.
