About This Activity
Musical Theatre — Course Description Students must be available to attend and perform in the Saturday performance in order to take part in this course. Students must also be fluent in both spoken and written English, as the course involves learning and performing scripted dialogue and lyrics. Students will need to attend the duration of the course which is 6 days. Our fun, fast-paced and highly intensive week of Musical Theatre! This course is designed for students who already have experience and training in drama, singing and dance, or for those with a strong interest in pursuing a future career in the performing arts. Students should be prepared for a busy and demanding week of rehearsals, working towards a studio-style workshop performance for parents on Saturday. Throughout the week, students will be required to learn and rehearse scripted scenes, dialogue, songs, choreography and staging, often at a fast pace. They will need to learn lines and lyrics, remember choreography and develop their performance skills. A positive attitude, commitment and enthusiasm for performing are essential. Each age group works with a professional production team consisting of a Director, Musical Director and Choreographer, giving students an authentic insight into the pace and expectations of working in Musical Theatre. Expect a hectic, challenging and hugely rewarding week — lots to learn, lots to remember and lots of fun along the way!
