Camp Leaders - Kacey McWilliams & Edward Allen An often underappreciated genre of reading and writing is poetry. However, when introduced well, children of all ages often fall in love with the silly and simple rhythms of poetry, as well as its often times profound emotional depth. This week campers will read, write, and sing poetry. They will create their own book of poetry in which each page will consist of a poem they've written as well as a fun and artistic graphic to go with each poetic creation. Then, on Friday, we will transform our space into a Parisian beatnik cafe and invite parents to come and listen to campers read their poems.
