A psyanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg decorated using a wax-resit method. Students will learn the basics of this folk art using beeswax, traditional dyes, and a traditional drawing tool (kistka) and will create two to three decorated eggs during class. An optional take-home commercial kit containing dyes, a kistka, and instructions will be available for $15 at the class for those who want to continue this art form at home. There is a $5 material fee to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.
