Upper II Students and All UCLA Lab School Alumni are eligible to participate in our Community Service Learning (CSL) program during the summer. Student volunteers work alongside teachers and TAs by supporting student learning, setting up classrooms, organizing materials, and interacting with students in the schoolyards. CSL students can work 2–4 weeks (it’s best to work more than just one) and can attend all five days or choose to work part-time (i.e., Mon–Wed–Fri only). CSLs should be prepared to work in any of the classrooms. At the end of the program, CLS students are provided a certificate and verification letter stating the number of community service hours obtained. Many middle schools accept these hours toward their community service requirement.
