IN PERSON SUMMER CAMP 2025:HAVE FUN-MAKE FRIENDS-LEARN FRENCH
The Alliance Française de Los Angeles complies with the new regulations from the Los Angeles Department of Public Health in order to ensure a safe environment for kids.
Kids from 5 to 11 years old:- anglophones who want to learn French or have already a prior experience with French OR - francophones who speak and understand French and want to exercise and master their French as a daily basisDuring this program our team of French Native teachers will encourage kids to use and practice French through our conversation and play-based pedagogy.Kids will learn basic vocabulary linked with our weekly theme, and basic sentences for everyday life at and outside of camp. This program will integrate reading and writing as tools for learning.
A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP
9:00 – Check in and Free Play9:30 - Assembly10:00 – French class: speaking, reading, writing11:00 – Art and Crafts, yoga, theater, cooking, gardening12:00 - Lunch and Quite Time1:20 – Games, Sport, cooking, science experiment…3:00 - Pick Up
ACTIVITIES AND CONCEPTS
Days at the camp will be primarily focused on language skills through our weekly themes. We will work on four themes, one per week for four weeks. The theme will be the inspiration for the adventure that the campers will embark on at the start of the week, and for the big game at the end of the week.Activities are designed to give the children multiple ways to express their creativity while having fun. It’s summertime, our teachers will adapt to every individual rhythm and make sure everyone enjoys their camp activities.
WEEKLY THEME
HEADING THE STARS!
Take off for an exciting space adventure! Kids will explore the wonders of space, learn about stars, planets, and rockets, and even take part in fun space missions. They will work together as a team just like real astronauts. Along the way, they'll learn cool space vocabulary in French. Get ready for a fun journey to the stars!
PICK-UP AND DROP OFF
Each camp will last for full days from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.Check in will be held between 8:55 am and 9:30 am each morning.Sign out is between 3:00 and 3:10 pm.You must pick up your child by 3:00 pm. Care option available.
IMPORTANT
We will NOT release your child to anyone (even the parent of another child) who is NOT on your authorized pick-up list or for which we have not receive a written confirmation.Any adult will need to show photo ID to pick up a child before signing the document.Every child MUST be signed IN AND OUT by an adult from the authorized pick-up list EVERY MORNING AND EVERY AFTERNOON at the front desk.
LUNCH/SNACKSParents or guardians need to bring snacks, lunch and a water bottle for their kids. Please let us know in advance if your child has food allergies!
