IN PERSON SUMMER CAMP 2024:
HAVE FUN-MAKE FRIENDS-LEARN FRENCHThe Alliance Française de Los Angeles complies with the new regulations from the Los Angeles Department of Public Health in order to ensure a safe environment for kids.
Kids from 6 to 11 years old:
- anglophones who want to learn French or have already a prior experience with FrenchOR francophones who speak and understand French and want to exercise and master their French as a daily basis
During this program our team of French Native teachers will encourage kids to use and practice French through our conversation and play-based pedagogy.
Kids will learn basic vocabulary linked with our weekly theme, and basic sentences for everyday life at and outside of camp. This program will integrate reading and writing as tools for learning.
A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP
9:00 – Check in and Free Play9:30 - Assembly10:00 – French class: speaking, reading, writing 11:00 – Art and Crafts, yoga, theater, cooking, gardening12:00 - Lunch and Quite Time1:20 – Games, Sport, cooking, science experiment…3:00 - Pick Up
ACTIVITIES AND CONCEPTS
Days at the camp will be primarily focused on language skills through our weekly themes. We will work on four themes, one per week for four weeks. The theme will be the inspiration for the adventure that the campers will embark on at the start of the week, and for the big game at the end of the week.
This year’s themes will be:1. Mysteries of Paris2. French inventors and scientists3. Mysteries of the Sea4. French heroes in Films and Fairy tales
Activities are designed to give the children multiple ways to express their creativity while having fun. It’s summertime, our teachers will adapt to every individual rhythm and make sure everyone enjoys their camp activities.
PICK-UP AND DROP OFF
Each camp will last for full days from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Check in will be held between 8:55 am and 9:30 am each morning.
Sign out is between 3:00 and 3:10 pm.
You must pick up your child by 3:15 pm.
IMPORTANT
We will NOT release your child to anyone (even the parent of another child) who is NOT on your authorized pick-up list or for which we have not receive a written confirmation.
Any adult will need to show photo ID to pick up a child before signing the document.
Every child MUST be signed IN AND OUT by an adult from the authorized pick-up list EVERY MORNING AND EVERY AFTERNOON at the front desk.
LUNCH/SNACKS
Parents or guardians need to bring snacks, lunch and a water bottle for their kids. Please let us know in advance if your child has food allergies!
YOU ARE RUNNING LATE / HAVE A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT OR NEED TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD EARLY
Please email our school coordinator at admin@afdela.com to let us know what time you plan to drop off or pick up.
5% when you enroll in multiple sessions (non-consecutive allowed) of this program
5% when you enroll siblings, will be applied to the registration of each additional child.
To take advantage of the discounts, be sure to register all at once and to contact us either by phone or by email.
Discounts cannot be combined with any other discount.
If not reopening, possibility to transfer to the online camp or to have a refund
