Learn tools, build big, and make friends. Tinkering Camp teaches children the skills they need to turn their wildest imaginings into robust items made from wood, plastic, metal, and fabric. With a 5:1 camper to facilitator ratio, our workshop provides a supportive environment for personal growth through skills development and creative construction. Use hand and power tools. Turn scraps and recyclables into personalized artworks. Work together to create huge, amazing projects like nothing else. The June 15-18 week of Tinkering Camp at Mid City will include a special session with guest artist Ken Mori, who will be creating huge body puppets for the LACMA Art Parade on Saturday June 20. Celebrate with Rediscover at the LACMA Art Parade as we show off the power of cardboard, kids, and imagination" both for the campers who are already signed up and as part of our special event marketing. Campers go outside for lunch and active play each day, weather permitting. No one with open toed shoes, loose hair, or loose clothing will be allowed in the workshop. Optional aftercare provides a supervised self-guided making and play environment from 3:00-5:00 PM Monday-Thursday. No aftercare on Friday. Rediscover Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Your donations fund scholarships for low income youth to participate in camps and classes. Thank you!
