At Wildwood Nature Explorers, we offer a unique, twice-weekly nature-based program designed for homeschool families seeking community, curiosity-driven learning, and immersive outdoor experiences. Rooted in inclusion and the Forest School philosophy, our program nurtures child-led exploration while bringing families together in a supportive, nature-centered community. Tuesdays are our dedicated Nature School Days, where children engage in rhythm-based, hands-on activities like STEAM explorations, nature journaling, skill-building labs, community games, and guided hikes. Thursdays are optional Park Days—a relaxed, play-based gathering that encourages free exploration and social connection, all within the wild beauty of local parks and trails. Tuesdays are from 1 pm to 4 PM and Thursday are from 1 PM to 3 PM This program is designed for children in grades 1 through 12. Younger siblings are welcome to join and be part of the community at their own pace. Please note that Wildwood Nature Explorers is not a drop-off program. Parents or guardians stay onsite to foster community, maintain connection, and support their child’s educational journey in a way that aligns with their individual needs and values. Rain or shine, our learners and their caregivers join together outdoors to grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration. To fully participate, each child will need individual supplies from our curated supply list and appropriate outdoor gear, both available on our website. These thoughtful resources ensure every child is prepared, safe, and able to engage meaningfully in the experience. With a strong emphasis on child-directed learning, our approach supports the development of vital life skills like critical thinking, risk assessment, problem-solving, and emotional resilience. Community-building is woven throughout the year with seasonal celebrations, field trips, and family-friendly events.
