AUDITION BASED SHOWS: AUDITIONS for ALL SHSA PRODUCTIONS (Except Into The Woods–SHA) ARE: December 17 and 18 4:00-7:30 . For Musicals - Please bring 1 minute of a Broadway or Disney musical piece with Karaoke accompaniment. Please dress in comfortable clothing and be prepared to learn a brief movement combination, taught by the choreographer the day of auditions. No theatre or dance experience is necessary. These are fun, HIGH ENERGY productions. We encourage students to sing what will show off vocal range, personality and performance skills. Students should come dressed like they're going to a school event, prioritizing comfort and the ability to showcase their acting skills without their clothes being the focus. For grades 3-5, students will be divided between the two shows based on the roles available and where we discern their skills can be highlighted. For grades 6-8, students can audition for both the musical and the play since they rehearse on different days OR they can choose one or the other. For non musicals: Please bring 1 minute of a poem, or monologue to perform for your audition Here is a link to some monologue suggestions. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D535_RipI3Vcmr4Ti_0uHAqsUF7qN5rqJ-l3Jfv904c/edit?usp=sharing Seussical, Kids(musical) Begins January 7th Signup here for an audition: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E49A5A923A6FFC43-51747542-auditions An epic folk-rock score brings magic to this funny, heartfelt fantasy musical. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.
