Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

Join the Space Invaders volunteer program and help our Natural Resources team combat invasive plants in our open space parks! Volunteers will work alongside experts to identify and remove non-native species that threaten the health of our local ecosystems. This hands-on experience not only contributes to preserving the natural beauty and biodiversity of our parks but also provides a unique educational opportunity to learn about native flora and the impacts of invasive plants. Be a part of this vital effort to protect and restore our cherished green spaces while connecting with nature and like-minded community members.

Ages 16 and Up
Space Invaders volunteers should wear a sturdy pair of boots (no tennis shoes!), long pants and work gloves. It's recommended that you wear a long-sleeved shirt and bring eye protection (such as glasses, sunglasses, or safety glasses) too.We have one official snack break (snacks provided by TOM!). Please bring your own beverages and any additional snacks you need to keep you powered for a day of trail work. We encourage all volunteers to take any additional breaks they need throughout the morning and to work at a pace that suits them. The trailheads have toilet facilities, however, at the project site, the crew relieves ourselves in the surrounding environment according to leave no trace guidelines. You'll may want to have toilet paper and hand sanitizer with you. We will provide tools.
