**3-week session, reduced price** Behind every athlete, there are many hours of practice, dedicated coaches and innovative equipment that contribute to their success. In sporting competitions, it is often a single point or fraction of a second between the winner and the loser. Top athletes must make sure that they have the best equipment possible, and sports engineers oversee designing this equipment. Everything from hockey pads to gymnastics floors and baseball bats to ice skates has been improved over the years. In this Engineering Club module, we will learn about the work sports engineers do to both protect athletes and improve their performance at all levels of competition. We will study muscles and how they enable up to do cheerleading flips and kick soccer balls. We will also experiment and design with different padding like scientists have done to create safer football helmets. Join the team!
