About This Activity
The Algebra Camp will give students entering Algebra I at the middle or high school level a chance to brush up and solidify their skills in preparation for Algebra I. Having a solid background ensures less "catch-up" in future math studies. The camp will help students get a glimpse of what skills and topics Algebra I will explore and will work with the new TI-Nspire CAS, the handheld "calculator" used in this course. This week-long course is an excellent way for students to maintain and sharpen their Math skills throughout the summer. This will give them a strong start in Math in their final year of Middle School. Math background is developed cumulatively, and setting this continuity will result in strong students in math throughout middle school and into their high school math studies. Come and learn how Algebra I is applied to everyday life! *Please note: Any students who have attained the appropriate math level may attend the camp, provided they have prior approval from instructor.*
