About This Activity

What is artificial intelligence, and how do machines learn to recognize images, understand words, and make decisions? In AI Innovators, campers explore how modern AI systems work through hands-on experiments, games, and creative projects that bring this powerful technology to life. Campers investigate how computers find patterns in data, how machines can be trained to sort, predict, and classify information, and how AI is used in everything from video games and recommendations to medical tools and self-driving cars. Through interactive challenges, they’ll train simple AI models, test how well they work, and discover what makes some systems more accurate than others. Campers also design and build their own AI-powered projects—such as smart games, recognition tools, or digital assistants—using kid-friendly coding and visual tools. Along the way, they’ll learn how data, logic, and algorithms work together to make machines “smart,” and how people guide, test, and improve those systems. This camp blends problem-solving, creativity, and real-world technology, giving campers a hands-on introduction to how artificial intelligence is shaping the world around them—and how they can become the innovators behind it.
