Step into the role of a forensic investigator and solve mysteries using science. Campers work together to examine evidence, analyze clues, and piece together what happened at a simulated crime scene. Throughout the week, campers practice the same techniques used by forensic scientists, such as fingerprinting, DNA testing, chromatography, hair and fiber analysis, blood typing, and toxicology, to identify suspects and uncover the truth behind each case. They use observation and interview skills, eyewitness accounts, and digital composite software to help recreate faces and track down important details. Using tools like UV light and luminol, campers locate hidden evidence and compare samples from the scene. By the end of the week, they bring everything together to evaluate the clues, question suspects, and determine how each mystery was solved. This camp builds problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork while giving campers a fascinating look at how science is used to solve real-world mysteries.
