This camp is designed to introduce students to the sport and tradition of hunting. Each day emphasizes important principles such as safety, marksmanship, ethics, and conservation. Campers will gain hands-on experience using a hunting rifle, shotgun, and crossbow while learning the proper safety and responsibility that come with each. Students will also spend time in the woods checking trail cameras, looking for tracks and other signs of wildlife, and even experiencing what it’s like to hunt from a ground blind and safely from a tree stand. This camp helps move learning from the classroom into the outdoors, giving students a deeper appreciation for conservation and the skills involved in hunting. This camp is for students in grades 5-10. **This camp is not a hunters education course, but this camp will help prepare students to take the Ohio Hunter Education Course which we will be offering in August or September (TBD).
