The creativity continues! Ms. McCombs and Wize are back for another semester of hands-on STEAM exploration, featuring all-new projects, exciting engineering challenges, and opportunities for young makers to expand their skills. This 9 session class will convene Thursday mornings from January through March (with the exception of Feb 4) Building on the foundations of engineering, robotics, and coding, students will explore new STEAM concepts through hands-on building, problem-solving, and creative design. Returning students will strengthen their skills and take on fresh challenges, while new students are welcome to jump right in! This isn't your average robotics class. Every Wize project is rooted in academic concepts aligned with Virginia SOL standards, bringing classroom learning to life through real-world applications. Each lesson introduces a STEAM concept, guides students through a tactile build, incorporates approximately 15 minutes of purposeful coding, and concludes with opportunities to demonstrate and present their creations. With minimal screen time and maximum hands-on engagement, Wize transforms children from passive technology users into confident creators, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers. Same maker spirit. Brand-new adventures. Tuition is non-refundable. We abide by FCPS school closure policy regarding inclement weather. Makeups are at the discretion of Wize and the School.
