About This Activity

Each season’s challenge is released in August, allowing teams to work on their project throughout the fall and spring semesters before participating in a culminating celebration event in the spring. This timeline supports a full-year program where students develop teamwork, problem-solving, engineering, and presentation skills. The theme for the 2026–2027 season is BIOGLOW, inviting students to explore how living things produce and use light through hands-on STEM learning and creative exploration.
