Vex IQ Robotics. Beginning Level and Advanced Level - Expand The Robotics Learning Curve For the many campers who participate in our Robotics with EV3 Camp (ages 6 to 10), Robotics with VEX® IQ is the next step in learning Robotics! This camp is for children ages 9 to 11 & 12-14 This is a dual purpose summer camp. The best way to instill a lifelong interest in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is to provide a fun, engaging, and hands-on opportunity to explore and experience it for themselves. By its nature, the study of robotics inherently incorporates all four pillars of STEM. VEX IQ is a snap-together robotics system designed from the ground up to provide this opportunity to future engineers of all skill levels. By packaging advanced concepts into an accessible package, the system also naturally encourages teamwork, problem solving, and leadership for students as young as second grade! Campers unfamiliar with robotics and VEX will learn the basics of building, driving and programming VEX robots. Students will learn through a hands-on, project-based approach. VEX® IQ allows campers to build complex robots with tons of motors (12 ports!), advanced gears and pulley systems, high-tech sensors, and enhanced controllability. Additionally, VEX® IQ has large, flexible pieces that allow for the construction of bigger, more sophisticated robots. Not only do VEX® IQ robots have advanced parts, they also make use of both a vertical programing language similar to Scratch, and ROBOTC, the standard for educational robotics and competitions. This gives campers experience using the same programs used by middle school, high school, and even college robotics teams nationwide! Take your real-world robotics skills to the next level with the VEX Robotics! This topic is especially good for students wanting to join or increase skills for a FIRST Lego League (FLL) or who want to learn a C-based language and have a fun way to apply it.
