About This Activity
This empowering, hands on camp introduces students to the art of hairstyling and self-care while building confidence from the inside out. Campers will use mannequins to learn fun and fabulous hairstyles, braids, twists, curls, and more. Campers develop real styling skills in a positive, creative space. Beyond the mirror, students will explore natural beauty projects like making lip balm, body scrubs, and face masks, all while learning the importance of self-expression and self-love. Each session includes uplifting confidence and public-speaking activities designed to help every student glow inside and out. By the end of camp, participants will walk away with new skills, radiant confidence, and their own signature style that shines as bright as they do. Heiress Brown teaches this class. Heiress holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design with over 17 years of experience working in after-school programs and summer camps. Her passion lies in fostering creativity and teaching hands-on skills that inspire young minds to explore their artistic potential. She has taught sewing and design at LaSalle College in Shanghai, as well as in Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. She has also worked as a freelancer on TV and film production with Henrietta Lacks & Black Panther.
