About This Activity
In Vive le Jeu ! (“long live play”), elementary students are introduced to French in a joyful, active, and age-appropriate way—through games and movement they already love. Using classic playground activities, simple sports, and traditional French children’s games, campers learn basic French words and phrases for colors, numbers, actions, and preferences while running, jumping, and playing together. No prior French experience is needed. The focus is on confidence, listening, and participation and is perfect for energetic learners who thrive through movement and play while building a positive first connection to a world language. Lindsey Pence teaches this class. Mrs. Pence is a Harding Academy upper school French teacher. Mrs. Pence has a BA in French. She teaches French I, French II, and Honors French. She is excited to teach French this summer to our younger students in this fun exciting camp!
