Improve Handwriting Skills! CLASS OVERVIEW, GOALS & OBJECTIVES 1 Improve student's handwriting 2 Understand and engage in the "art" of handwriting 3 Identify parts of the written alphabet/letters 4 Practice handwriting via individual and group activities, projects, and games 5 Practice and/or create a personal signature (if time permits) 6 Increase the speed of handwriting 7 Enrich vocabulary and spelling 8 Explore varieties of papers and textures, which may aid in proper handwriting 9 Explore varieties of writing utensils, which may also aid in proper handwriting 10 Examine how we hold our pencils, tilt our paper, and write letters and words This is a class to "improve" handwriting. For younger grades, it is assumed the students will know how to write in order to participate in this class. This class is NOT designed to teach students how to write. It is a class to improve handwriting. If younger students already know how to write and want to improve their handwriting, they are welcome to join this class. Taught by local educator Deidra Tolliver who is a talented all-around artist with a BS in Graphic Design.
