Description
Delight in nature explorations while playing outside this summer! Follow your curiosity to explore the park, discover what creatures live in a creek, and adventure through gardens in search of cool plants and pollinators. Meet live education animals up close, then hike to seek wildlife, or the clues they leave behind, using tools to get a closer look. Play in the woods, build a stick village, and practice wilderness skills like building a fire or using a map and compass. Try paddling a canoe and cool off with a swim at the beach. Each day is sure to offer a summer adventure full outdoor fun in nature!
Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all participants, there are a limited number of spots available.
We will spend as much time outside as possible, but day camp will be based out of the Wirth Picnic Pavilion 3275 Glenwood Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55405 within Theodore Wirth Regional Park.
Drop off participants at the small parking lot along the south side of Glenwood Ave., just east (and down the hill from) the pavilion. Outdoor adventures will be close to the building for the final hour of camp - regular pick up window at the end of the day is between 3-4pm.
Every day when attending camps please:- Wear sunscreen- Bring a water bottle, snack and lunch- Dress to get wet and messy- Wear shoes for running- Bring a swimsuit and towel for swimming at Wirth Lake Beach as weather allows
