About This Activity
Description
Come join the Northeast Cheerleaders for a summer of fun and bonding! Designed for children of all genders, grades 4th and 5th, students will learn the basics of cheer. This will include ready stance, beginner motions, starter jumps, and basic tumbling (cartwheel, roundoff, and a team-made pyramid). The program will also cover chants, choreographed pom pom and dance routines, basic parade marching techniques, and other performance skills. Throughout the program, participants will practice and improve their coordination, physical fitness, self-confidence, and teamwork abilities. At the end of the project, the Northeast Cheerleaders will host a recital for parents and family as well as perform in a parade for the Waite Park neighborhood. Coaches will also provide more information on specialty clinics and teams for students to join in the future.
