About This Activity
Description
Open to any students ages 16 through adults with 2+ years of experience playing their instrument. Experience reading staff notation and/or tablature is preferable.
This ensemble focuses on the traditional folk music of the United States and its influences, including but not limited to bluegrass, country/western, Celtic, Cajun, and blues. It is open to any instrument, but will primarily focus on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dobro, bass, and dulcimer. Vocalists are also encouraged to join. Students will learn melodies, chordal accompaniments, ensemble skills, improvisation, and more.
