About This Activity
Description
Calling all pianists and keyboard players eager to break out of solo practice and dive into the excitement of making music with others! The Keyboard Ensemble at MacPhail is your chance to play in a band alongside 4–5 fellow keyboardists and a rhythm section, exploring a wide range of styles from jazz and blues to pop, rock, funk, and beyond.
In this fun, collaborative group, you’ll learn how to craft keyboard parts that complement one another, lock in with a groove, and bring songs to life through rich textures and dynamic interplay. You’ll build essential skills like comping, creating fills, supporting solos, and listening deeply to your bandmates, all while experiencing the joy of performing together.
Whether you’re looking to stretch your creativity, sharpen your ensemble chops, or simply enjoy the thrill of being part of a keyboard-driven band, this ensemble offers a welcoming space to explore, experiment, and grow. Come share your sound, connect with other passionate musicians, and discover how much more rewarding music-making can be when you do it together.
