About This Activity

Description

Join us for the 2024 Sartory String Quartet Institute!

Violinists, violists and cellists at this 5-day Institute are placed in chamber ensembles with other students of similar age and proficiency. All ensembles receive daily coachings in preparation for a recital performance at the end of the Institute. In addition to these small ensembles, students play together in a chamber orchestra and experience what it’s like to perform in a larger group without a conductor.

There are two performances scheduled:

  • Friday, July 12, at 2:00pm at MacPhail
  • Saturday, July 13, at 11:00am at Mill City Museum

In order to attend the camp, all students must audition through recorded video auditions and be accepted into the camp. Please record all three audition requirements (scale, piece and excerpts) in separate files. Upload your videos as unlisted on YouTube, and then complete the student information form: https://www.macphail.org/sartory-quartet-institute/
