In this ceramic workshop led by Northern Clay Center guest teaching artist Jason Gruber, students will learn how to use a potter’s wheel, practice centering, opening, pulling and shaping the clay. All skill levels are welcome. Instructor demonstrations will include foundational wheel-thrown forms such as small bowls, cups and cylinders. There will be plenty of guidance for beginners and time spent with our hands in clay practicing our developing skills. Students will paint projects with colored slips. All finished artwork will be fired and available for pick up after the conclusion of the program. The director of Summer Programs will contact families with pick-up information. Participants will need to dress for mess, bring a nut-free lunch, snack and refillable water bottle each day. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available.
