About This Activity
Description
Explore the ukulele while building foundational music skills through fun songs, musical games, singing, and creative activities. Students develop beginning ukulele technique while building rhythm-reading, note-reading, sight-singing, listening skills, and musical confidence. In addition to learning the ukulele, students will have opportunities to explore other instruments such as piano, recorder, and Orff instruments, helping them discover new musical interests and skills.
Formerly known as Ukulele and More, this class may also incorporate composition, songwriting, improvisation, and music technology activities. Beginning Ukulele serves as an engaging bridge to instrument-specific learning and prepares students for private lessons and continued study in ukulele, guitar, and other instruments.
