Spark your child’s imagination this winter at our engaging February Camp: Smart City Makers! This year’s camp will explore the importance of Khilafa and how we can work to build sustainable cities that make the earth a better place for future generations. Over four days, students will enjoy STEM activities, Islamic studies, arts and crafts, and physical activities. STEM workshops - Smart City Makers: This is an immersive, hands-on STEM experience where children become young makers and engineers, working together to design and build a large cardboard city filled with moving parts, lights, and interactive features. Using safe tools and age-appropriate materials, students create buildings, roads, bridges, and city spaces from cardboard. They then bring their creations to life using simple motors, basic circuits, sensors, and beginner-friendly coding. Camp activities are carefully scaffolded: younger students focus on building, exploration, and simple cause-and-effect, while older students take on more complex challenges involving motion, control, and coding. The full-day format allows time for creativity, collaboration, testing, and redesign. Students are encouraged to experiment, solve problems, and improve their ideas—learning that mistakes are a natural and valuable part of the maker process. Breaks for play, movement, and rest are built into the day to keep campers engaged and energized. By the end of the camp, students proudly showcase their interactive Maker City and leave with confidence, creativity, and a strong foundation in hands-on STEM learning. 10% Sibling Discount available for the camp fee.
