Students explore the process of digital design and fabrication, learning to conceptualize, model, and produce a three-dimensional object using industry-standard design software and 3D printing technology. By moving through the full design-to-object pipeline, they develop spatial reasoning and an understanding of how professional engineers and product designers bring ideas from concept to creation. This course bridges computer-aided design and manufacturing, introducing students to the principles of iterative design and digital prototyping. (JO-C)
