Lake Marion CC
Our karate classes focus on building strong fundamentals while enhancing coordination, balance, and self-defense skills. Students will engage in a structured program that includes essential techniques, forms, and sparring exercises to develop discipline and body awareness.
Class Components:
Warm-ups & Stretching
Each class begins with dynamic warm-ups and stretching exercises to prepare the body, improve flexibility, and prevent injuries.
Kihon (Basic Movements)
Students will learn the foundation of karate, including essential strikes, blocks, kicks, stances, and movement drills. Practicing these techniques in structured lines helps improve control, precision, and effective body mechanics.
Kata (Forms)
Students will practice traditional movement patterns designed to develop self-defense principles. Kata training enhances coordination, agility, strength, and speed while reinforcing proper technique.
Kumite (Sparring Practice)
Students will apply their learned techniques in controlled sparring exercises. Beginners start with pre-arranged kumite in a slow, safe environment, gradually progressing to more dynamic and responsive sparring as they develop confidence and skill.
