About This Activity
Description
Cast TBD. Show Week is December 7-13
In this class, dancers will learn dance routines, traditional drumming rhythms that tell stories, and explore body percussion. Students will use their hands, feet, body, drums, and voice to make music — building new connections between the left and right sides of the brain, sharpening focus and memory right alongside rhythm and coordination. This class is designed to be experiential and community-building, all while exploring the cultural rhythms of Western Africa up close. No dance or music background needed — just curiosity and energy to learn and have fun.
