Instructor: Florin Curuea, Sewickley Academy Rowing Coach Build strength, endurance, and coordination while enjoying the outdoors. With experienced coaches and a focus on water safety, kids not only develop their rowing technique but also learn valuable life skills such as discipline, perseverance, and collaboration. The Learn To Row For Youth program will be led by Sewickley Academy rowing coach, Florin Curuea, who has competed in the Olympics and on the Romanian national team. The Learn to Row for Youth Program is a fun and engaging way for kids ages 12 and up to get introduced to the sport of rowing in a safe and supportive environment. The program focuses on teaching basic rowing techniques, water safety, and teamwork through age-appropriate activities both on land and in boats. With a strong emphasis on fun, fitness, and confidence-building, kids develop coordination, communication skills, and a love for being active outdoors—all while making new friends and enjoying time on the water. All campers should bring a refillable water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, and athletic socks each day of camp. Please avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing that can get caught in the boat rigging. This program will be held at the Robert Morris University Boathouse, 6001 University Boulevard Moon Township, PA 15108. If you are interested in participating, please contact Florin Curuea at pittsburghrowingclub@gmail.com or Delaney Kuchnicki at dkuchnicki@sewickley.org.
