For the storytellers and the daydreamers, this club will encourage kids to explore, practice, and embrace a love for reading and creative writing. Each week, will be themed around a book and/or style of writing. We will read from the week’s work, play games or create art relating to the stories, then end the club working on our own forms of writing. Weekly themes to look forward to include: Wings of Fire/How to Train Your Dragon: Magical Beasts in Writing + Crafting our own Familiars using recycled materials. Percy Jackson: Chosen One Heroes with an interactive quest across campus. Poetry Styles: from Dr. Seuss to Shakespeare, plus making our own club house to read our work Ms. Rabah holds a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. She is also a graduate of the 2023 Summer Publishing Institute at NYU. She has been an associate teacher in PreK and Kindergarten, and has taught a Creative Writing Summer Camp at Woodlawn the past two years. Cost includes all materials including crafts, notebooks and pencils needed for the club.
