Coach Verlin’s Middle School Basketball Skills Camp is designed for players who want to improve their skills, boost their confidence, and play smarter on the court. Throughout this high-energy, week-long camp, athletes will sharpen their basketball IQ while developing key skills like ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, and game decision-making. Campers will compete in fast-paced drills, skill challenges, and game situations that focus on both individual growth and team concepts. Players will also learn offensive and defensive strategies used in real game settings and receive take-home drills to help them continue improving long after camp ends. Whether you’re preparing for your middle school team, travel basketball, or recreational league, you’ll leave camp with stronger skills, smarter play, and the confidence to perform at the next level. Kyle Verlin is a Charlotte-area elementary school teacher with over 20 years experience working with children and young adults in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. Kyle was an NAIA All-American college basketball player and former assistant coach at Aquinas College, Hopewell High School and most recently Middle School Head Coach at Davidson K8. Coach Verlin is passionate about helping middle school athletes grow as both teammates and leaders on and off the court. Campers should bring a water bottle, basketball (optional- there will be extras to use) and nut-free snack each day.
