For our youngest creators, Junior Creative Quest will help foster the imagination of children who love hearing, and watching, and/or telling stories. We will begin each club meeting with a themed story followed by a craft and/or game relating to their work. We will learn the components of a story (ex. the beginning, middle and ending) and host Writer’s Workshops for students to express their own ideas. Whether by drawing pictures or writing sentences, students will get to create their own stories. Weekly themes to look forward to include: Winnie the Pooh: Stories and a scavenger hunt across our very own “Hundred-Acre” Woods Dr. Seuss and Rhymes, plus making our own truffula trees. Writer’s Adventures in Wonderland: Traveling down the rabbit hole to enjoy our stories over a tea party. Ms. Rabah holds a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. She is also a graduate of the 2023 Summer Publishing Institute at NYU. She has been an Associate Teacher in PreK and Kindergarten, and has taught a Creative Writing Summer Camp at Woodlawn the past two years. Cost includes all materials including crafts, notebooks and pencils needed for the club.
