Half Day: 8am-1pm Full Day: 8am-5:30pm Welcome to Oakwood's Summer Explorers, where you learn in a joyful dance of discovery! Our program is specially crafted to be a stepping stone into the exciting world of school for your Pre-K Explorer. Nestled in a welcoming classroom community, our Pre-K Explorers embark on a journey where each day is an adventure of fun, friendship, and foundational learning. At Oakwood, we understand the significance of a child's first experience in a classroom setting. Our Pre-K Explorers program is designed to provide a balance of social-emotional development and age-appropriate introduction to academics. Through weekly themes full of hands-on, multi-sensory approach, we engage young minds in a world of "we hear, we see, we say, we do," fostering a love for learning from the very start. Our focus extends beyond the academic realm. We believe in nurturing the whole child, promoting social skills, sharing, and self-esteem through meaningful experiences. In our welcoming environment, each child is not just a student but a cherished individual. Our approach encourages development both in small, intimate groups and larger, collaborative settings, ensuring that every child feels accepted and valued. Mornings are filled with developmental introductions to language arts, math, writing, and special projects, seamlessly woven together with plenty of playtime throughout the day. In the afternoons after their nap, the fun continues with engaging camp and recreation activities, creating a perfect blend of learning and leisure. State of California Department of Social Services forms are required for all Pre-K students in the Explorers program. All forms, including one signed by your camper's physician are due by May 17, 2024. Summer Explorers Program excludes the July 4th Holiday Week (July 1st-5th). All Explorers must be fully potty trained.
