About This Activity
This exam course is for continuing Saturday School students who already have a high degree of proficiency in the German language. Currently scheduled Exam Dates: Oral Exam: TBD Written Exam: Nov 19 An info session for parents and students will be held online after the first class to review guidelines and expectations for the course and exam. Students must take the prep course in order to take the DSD I or the DSD II oral and written exams. The exams will need to be taken in person. Families are paying for the course, and not for the exam. Before officially registering the students for the DSD II Exam, the DSD teacher and Head of Saturday School will discuss if there are any students that we would advise to take the DSD II Exam in the following year. In this situation, we would reach out to the parents to discuss the student’s preparedness. The Saturday School reserves the right to not register any student for DSD exams if the DSD instructor and/or the Head of Saturday School deem that the student would likely not pass the exam. In the event that the Saturday School decides not to register a student for the exam, a prorated refund for the remainder of the class session will be given. Once students are registered for the exam, they cannot withdraw. If a student is sick on the exam date, the student will need a doctor’s note to apply for permission to retake the exam the following year. The application will need to be approved by German authorities after the exam. There is no guarantee that it will be granted. If a student does not participate in either the oral or written part of the exam, the student will have to restart the entire process. If no prior attempts have been used, the student should have the chance to retake the entire class and exams in the following year.
