Reading: Read and understand newspaper, magazine, and teen magazine texts, particularly those with a critical societal perspective. Writing: Write structured essays (introduction, body, conclusion); analyze diagrams, graphics, and charts; construct arguments; and express a personal point of view. Grammar: Strong command of German grammar at the B2/C1 level, including Subjunctive I & II and passive constructions. Important Exam Information The prep course is required before taking the DSD I or DSD II oral and written exams. Exams must be taken in person. Fees cover the course only — exam fees are separate. Before official registration, the DSD teacher and Head of Saturday School will evaluate each student's readiness and contact parents if a delay is recommended. The Saturday School reserves the right to withhold exam registration if the student is deemed unlikely to pass; a pro-rated refund for remaining sessions will be issued in such cases. Once registered, students cannot withdraw. Illness on exam day requires a doctor's note to apply for a makeup date; approval by German authorities is not guaranteed. Missing either the oral or written portion requires restarting the entire process. Please refer to our Saturday School Policies for additional restrictions and regulations.
