This is the continuation of the German 5 course from the Fall Semester. German language competency required enrolling in German 5 – Spring Semester: Understanding: The student should be able to understand a variety of difficult texts and discussions, which relate to specialized themes and topics. Speaking: The student should begin to be able to share his/her opinion fluently and naturally. S/he should not often need to take long breaks to find the correct words. The student should be able to use the language in a social or academic or professional context. Reading: The student should be able to fluently read any kind of text. The student should be able to read and comprehend texts of some complexity relating to social, academic, or professional contexts. Writing: The student should have gained the skills that he/she will be able to write any kind of text which is required in a social, academic or work-related environment. Grammar: The student should begin to feel like he/she knows enough German grammar to be able to write and speak German without being misunderstood.
